Dr Suess had links with Japan. Unpleasant ones in the 40s as he was a propagandist, but I suppose he was a man of his time. 
More pleasant ones later after he visited Japan. Horton Hears a Who is a parable of the American postwar occupation and is dedicated to a Japanese friend. 

I go with Shakespeares warning.

Which taken at the flood, leads on to fortune;
Omitted, all the voyage of their life
Is bound in shallows and in miseries.&quot;

or even the earlier &quot;Carpe Diem&quot; 

Good words but hard to follow I find. 

You are an inspiration for someone following their dream...  to a far and distant land.</description>
