So, this morning I was following my usual routine. I had just put the kettle on to boil, and was about to get in the shower, when I heard the kettle making the strangest of sounds. It was jiggling about on the stove like there was something alive inside it!
I was a little scared that somehow a mouse or something had got inside and I was boiling it alive, so I switched off the stove and had a peek. Nothing. How odd. I thought perhaps the stove was breaking, so I decided to leave it switched off until I could keep an eye on it.
Then I went to hang something in my wardrobe, and my wardrobe doors shook and rattled! It wasn’t much – nothing fell down or anything – but it’s a buit in wardrobe so that struck me as a little odd too!
Anyway, the rest of the morning seemed normal, but when I got to work I decided to ask my colleague if she had felt anything shake in her apartment, which is very close to mine. She very matter-of-factly stated that, yes, there had been a small earthquake this morning!
So, there you have it, my first earthquake. Nothing to write home about really, but I thought I’d mention it anyway. It wasn’t at all scary, just a little confusing at that time in the morning! 🙂
Sooooo… welcome to Japan!!!! Ha ha ha….
