The other day, EAT-JAPAN.com were having a competition on their Facebook page, where you could win an exclusive Kikkoman T-shirt just by “liking” their post, so I entered. I didn’t really expect to win anything, so I was very surprised when I got an email asking for the address to send my prize to. Thank you, EAT-JAPAN.com!
EAT-JAPAN.com is “the number one site for Japanese food, sushi and sake“. Their goal is to “promote greater awareness and enjoyment of Japanese food, drink and culture in the UK“, and so they are involved in a lot of events which promote Japanese culture, such as Hyper Japan, which is coming up in July (in London). Oh how I wish I could work for a company like that! (If you’re reading this, EAT-JAPAN.com, I’m not kidding by the way… Got any jobs going??)
I’m sure everyone reading this knows what Kikkoman is but, just in case you don’t, Kikkoman is probably the number one brand of soy sauce in Japan (they make other sauces too). It’s so yummy, and I’m so happy it’s available in the UK!
Incidentally, while I was Googling the Kikkoman website, I came across this curious animation:
You can watch it here with more English subtitles, and Wikipedia explains what it’s all about. It’s nothing to do with actual Kikkoman, but it’s very funny! I love the “show me, show you” (しょうゆ) part! 😀
that’s good luck! have you heard about the japan festival in brighton? http://www.brightonjapan.com
My japanese class are thinking of doing a group trip as we’re reasonably close to it
