The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2011 annual report for Haikugirl’s Japan.
(From: Kanzanji: A big Buddha, a beautiful lake, and a lot of walking!)
Here are some excerpts from my annual report:
The Louvre Museum has 8.5 million visitors per year. This blog was viewed about 120,000 times in 2011. If it were an exhibit at the Louvre Museum, it would take about 5 days for that many people to see it.
The busiest day of the year was March 12th with 4,483 views. The most popular post that day was March 2011 Earthquake & Tsunami in Japan.
Most visitors came from Japan. The United States & The United Kingdom were not far behind.
Your most commented on post in 2011 was Kanzanji: A big Buddha, a beautiful lake, and a lot of walking!

Unsurprisingly, March was the busiest month and posts about the tsunami and earthquake got the most attention. However, my second most popular post is still Honen Matsuri (a PG rated post…) – sex continues to sell!
Most of the search terms that come up on my blog make a lot of sense – this year there were a lot of searches for tsunamis and earthquakes – but one that continues to mystify me is “Japanese shoes”. I’ve not written a lot about Japanese shoes, but I’m thinking perhaps I should make it one of my topics to cover in 2012.
Once again, thank you one and all for reading in 2011! Don’t forget, you can make sure you never miss a post on Haikugirl’s Japan by subscribing (click the link above), following me on Twitter, or liking me on Facebook. 今年もよろしくおねがいします!
