Japan 2015: The Adventure Begins

As anyone who knows me either in real life or on Facebook will know, I’m heading off to Japan very soon and I’m pretty damn excited about it. Just 3 sleeps to go! I first visited Japan in 2006, then returned in 2007. In 2008 I moved there for 3 years, returning in April 2011. In 2014 I returned for an epic holiday and work trip and had the time of my life, and now it’s time to do that again. I originally planned to just have a holiday this year, but then my company decided to extend that into a work research trip, which is fantastic!

I’ll be in Japan for 33 days, visiting at least 20 different places and staying in 23 different hotels (including ryokans and also shukubo temple lodgings). Did I mention that I’m a little bit excited? ๐Ÿ˜€

Here’s a quick Google map of where I’m going – click on the little menu icon in the top left corner and you can see a list of places I’ll be going, and you can zoom in on the map for more detail if you want.

Whilst I’m away I won’t be posting long blog posts, but I will try to update the blog with some quick snapshots where possible. Do also follow me on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram for more updates! ่กŒใฃใฆใใพใ™๏ผ (*^_^)v

  1. Oh, cool! I’ll be in Japan in a week as well.
One week for work and one week for vacation. ๐Ÿ™‚
I’ll mainly stay in Kanto this time and haven’t planned much (after all I’ve been to most places already *g*), but if our schedules match, we could meet up somewhere? ^^

If not, that’s alright, then enjoy your trip. ^___^
Can’t wait to read all about it afterwards. :3

  2. Might be busy: we leave in three days, starting from Sapporo. Given the local temperature in Sth Aust on Wednesday is scheduled for 36oC, we’ll wake at minus 5 on arrival: a case of “out of the frying pan into the freezer”. By early December, we’ll be at Kobe’s Luminairie.

  3. Have a super time! I can imagine how excited you are – my own trip is in April next year and I’m already packing! I’ll be keen to see your adventures – especially Kagawa as I will have a stop there too before going to explore Kyushu!
