It’s Halloween weekend or, as my Japanese friend recently dubbed it, Hallo-weekend, and Japan is a place where Halloween is definitely not done by halves! The place to be at Halloween is Tokyo, and it’s the famous Shibuya Crossing which sees all the action with massive street parties, road closures and incredible costumes. Tokyo Fashion have posted a fantastic video on YouTube which captures some of the craziness:
It seems like everyone in Tokyo has embraced Halloween in a big way – both adults and kids – and there are some really awesome and creative costumes out there. The Asahi Shinbun and Japan Times also have articles about the way Halloween is celebrated in Shibuya. One day I’m going to have to try to get to Tokyo for Halloween to join in all the fun! Happy Halloween everyone! ハッピーハロウィン!
